At the 32nd Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, held in Porto on 29 June–3 July 2025, parliamentarians adopted the “Porto Declaration,” a package of recommendations spanning security, human rights and the economy. (OSCE)
The final text again tackles ageing and the sustainability of social-health systems, approving paragraphs that advance “active ageing” policies, alignment of retirement age with life expectancy, and evidence-based strategies to respond to the demographic winter.
Within this framework, the resolution calls on all participating States to adopt national measures that support health across the life course, strengthen welfare sustainability—consistent with the aims of longevity-oriented medicine.
